Cobb County, Marietta City Teachers Of The Year Will Receive Free One-Year Lease Of a Car

The Ed Voyles Automotive Group is honored to be in a position to give back to our community and the people that everyday shape the minds and lives of our children ā€“ our teachers.

In one of the biggest salutes to teachers and public education in the nation, the Cobb Chamber is proud to recognize and honor more than 130 educators in Marietta City Schools, the Cobb County School District, and Cobb’s post-secondary institutions. Today’s Teacher of the Year Celebration Pep Rally is part of the Cobb Chamber’s Give Our Schools a Hand (GOSH) program.

For 35 years, GOSH has united the Cobb community to celebrate its finest educators through key events and tokens of appreciation. In turn, GOSH raises awareness of Cobb’s education system and its needs. The 2024 festivities began with a treasured tradition, the Handprint Unveiling Ceremony. Located at Glover Park on the Marietta Square, the ceremony invites the two District Teachers of the Year from the Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools to add their handprints to the Teacher Walk of Honor, a commemorative sidewalk along Marietta Square, leaving their impression on the county for generations to come. On October 8, Karen Wright of Big Shanty Intermediate School and Maria Nelson of the Marietta Center for Advanced Academics unveiled their handprints.

Today, the GOSH events continue with an appreciation pep rally honoring all teachers of the year within the county.

Today’s events help GOSH achieve its mission of bringing educators, students, parents, businesses and the community together to celebrate education. Thank you for joining the Cobb Chamber in honoring these outstanding educators!
