Five 2023 Honda Models Named Top Safety Picks
Honda has received a TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) rating or better for five of its models for the year 2023, with three models achieving the highest rating of TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+). Among the models that received the TSP+ rating are the newly launched Honda HR-V and CR-V for 2023. The outstanding safety ratings are attributed to the Honda SensingĀ® driver-assistive and safety technology that comes as a standard feature in all five models. The Honda SensingĀ® system has earned “SUPERIOR” ratings for its vehicle-to-vehicle frontal crash prevention capability. The 2023 Honda Accord and Pilot have yet to be tested by the IIHS but are expected to receive excellent ratings as well.
Honda SensingĀ® technology is now available or standard in every Honda model. The comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies includes Collision Mitigation Braking Systemā¢ (CMBSā¢) with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). In the United States, there are nearly seven million Acura and Honda vehicles on the roads featuring the Honda SensingĀ® technology.
All Honda vehicles also benefit from the company’s proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineeringā¢ (ACEā¢) body structure, designed to protect occupants in various frontal collisions. Honda vehicles also have advanced supplemental restraint systems such as pretensioning front seatbelts, front, side, knee, and side-curtain airbags, further contributing to their exceptional safety ratings.
These are the five Honda models that have earned the award:

ā¢ 2023 Honda Civic Sedan (TSP)
