Honda Officially Reveals 2023 Civic Type R
The all-new Honda Civic Type R has been revealed, bringing the latest generation of Honda’s high-performance hot hatch to driving enthusiasts around the world. Based on the latest-generation Civic, the Type R gives drivers incredible performance and an amazing driving experience on the road, and on the racetrack. The new Civic Type R is the most powerful model in the Type R’s thirty year history.
Since it is based on the all-new 11th generation Civic hatchback, drivers will also get all the upgrades the new generation brings, including a high quality interior, the latest connected technology, and excellent safety features. The 2023 Civic Type R takes things to the next level with a high-performance cockpit, a low and wide stance, Type R specific styling details, and of course the powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
“Type R is about more than speed, power and handling. It’s how a great car makes you feel that really matters and that’s what the all-new Civic Type R is all about,” said Mike Kistemaker of Honda.
The new lightweight and rigid body structure improves the Civic Type R’s high speed stability and offers better handling characteristics than ever before. The Type R was thoroughly tested on the Nürburgring, which is the premier track to put a sports car to the test. The 2.0-liter turbo engine has more power than before as well, and the six-speed manual transmission features rev-matching for an even more rewarding driving experience.
Technology features include a new +R driving meter that provides drivers with crucial info at a glance, including a graphic engine rpm display, gear position indicator, rev indicator lights, and more. The Honda LogR data logger gives real-time info on the vehicle, including the driver’s input. It can also record lap times and share driving videos from the track.
